At my place, Cochin, the venue was the Sacred Hearts College, Thevara.
I reached the venue at around 10.00 am. There were quite a few people at the venue. By around 10.45am there were about 250 people. Soft music was been played in the hall.
By 11.00 am Revathi madam from the Google Hyderabad Team took over the mike and she introduced the 4 people from the Google Hyderabad Team -Herself-Revathi, then Siddarth, Anupriya and Kavitha. It was a great feeling to have been able to talk to the team of Google.
Siddharth Sir gave a slide show on Google story, google India, Google culture and google products. Then Revathi Madam briefed in the rules and regulation of the Google Wordmasters Challenge.
At 11.45.00 am. Every contestant was given a google goody bag-with 2 papers+1 pen+ a google keychain.
Then the question papers were distributed. Each question paper had an option of 2 topics and 20 words under each. The contestant had to write an essay which includes all the 20 words and the word limit is 150-200 words. 45 minutes was the time given? The question papers were distributed and time was given to go through the paper.
At sharp 12.00pm, the contest began. It ended at 12.45 pm. Each of the 20 keywords was to be underlined.
The result will be declared on the 30th of October. The winners will be judged by the Google India team and a team of 20 prominent writers. The winners will be given the opportunity to attend a creative writing course at a foreign university. The top ten entries will get the golden chance to interact with the Google India Team. Also to add to the fair was the announcement that the Google HR will be contacting those willing to join the Google.
That sure is a long wait till 30th of October for those who had put in their best.
